How To Play A Single Pedal Quad https://www.drumeo.com/beat/how-to-play-a-single-pedal-quad/ Fri, 08 Feb 2019 17:00:24 +0000 https://www.drumeo.com/beat/?p=13207

Four-note groupings on a single kick pedal isn’t a topic that’s normally covered in drumming. Once we get past three notes, we tend to start venturing into double kick pedal territory.

Today, Stan Bicknell is going to break down his technique for playing four consecutive notes on the bass drum. Spoilers: There’s no special technique that you need to practice for hours and hours to accomplish this. If you have a decent grasp on playing two notes in a row, this is simply a natural extension of those foot motions.

And if you haven’t already, check out Stan’s full live Drumeo session where he gives you FIVE grooves to help sharpen and refine your bass drum playing.

How To Build A Better, Stronger, & Faster Single Kick https://www.drumeo.com/beat/single-bass-drum-speed/ Mon, 04 Feb 2019 19:51:28 +0000 https://www.drumeo.com/beat/?p=13155

Over the past decade, double kick pedals have made a major impact on drumming (even outside of metal music where they’re most commonly found). This has caused many drummers, especially the new wave of young drummers, to overlook just how far a single pedal can take you and may have caused them to rush past some of the fundamentals.

In today’s lesson, Stan Bicknell will go over five grooves that had a major impact on his single kick playing. He constantly gets asked by his followers on Instagram what he does to get such a solid single kick drum foot, but since social media isn’t the greatest platform for having a long, in-depth discussion, Stan has always held off from answering. Now that he’s on Drumeo and has a chance to speak to the largest drum community in the world, it’s time to dive deep into his brain and see exactly what he did to get to where he is.
